The 2016 Toyota Mirai

Be the Next Trailblazer.

The 2016 Toyota Mirai. A fuel cell vehicle. A turning point from the inside out.

So what is a fuel cell vehicle? It all starts with hydrogen. When hydrogen is pumped into a vehicle, the gas travels to carbon fiber reinforced fuel tanks where it is stored. The FCV's (fuel cell vehicle) front intake grills deliver outside air to the fuel cell stack. The hydrogen travels from the tank to the fuel cell stack where is goes through a chemical reaction involving the oxygen in the air, thus creating electricity to power the vehicle. When you push the gas pedal, electricity is then sent to the motor. The end result? Nothing but water. The creation of electricity through hydrogen and oxygen results in a by-product we can't live without: water.
